Fr Geoffrey's Jubilee

Last Thursday Fr Geoffrey was at Douai to celebrate his 40th anniversary of priestly ordination. The celebration was attended by family, friends, and community members.  The Mass readings were chanted to the Cassinese tones and Fr Abbot played the organ.  A small monastic schola sang the Gradual and the Offertory chants, as well as the usual chants of the Mass sung at Douai. A festal meal capped off the day. The next day Fr Geoffrey returned to his parish in Alcester in good time for the weekend Masses. Fr Geoffrey was granted the titular abbacy of Lindisfarne after his retirement as abbot of Douai last year. Ad multos annos!
