Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 6 March 2019
» The main event in February was the community's annual conventual chapter and associated meetings, held last week. Part of the time was taken up with a presentation on safeguarding given by Praesidium, keeping the community up to date on best practice in safeguarding.

» Today's Ash Wednesday Mass, held in the parish church in light of the damage to the abbey church, was well attended. On Monday and Tuesday the community had its traditional carnival holiday.

» Tomorrow Fr Abbot and Fr Hugh will travel to Ormskirk, in part to enable Fr Hugh to move into our parish at Scarisbrick, working alongside Frs Godric and Boniface at Ormskirk. Fr Oliver has returned to take Fr Hugh's place as bursar.

» A number of the community have health issues at present. Please keep them in your prayers, as well as all on our prayer list.
