» Learning about Chemin Neuf
This morning, as part of Douai's commemoration of both its 400th anniversary of foundation and the Year of Consecrated Life, Tim and Kate Watson spoke to the community and visitors about the Chemin Neuf movement. The movement was founded in France in 1973 by a Jesuit and has grown to 2000 members in 30 countries. As well as consecrated celibates, the movement also has married couples as members, and allows for temporary, renewable lengths of commitment as well as the traditional perpetual profession that religious generally make. Their presentation was an engaging and enlightening introduction into this movement of renewal within the Church.
