Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr

» On 13 January Fr Abbot was at Oulton Abbey in Staffordshire for a meeting of its trustees. On his way back to Douai he visited Colwich Abbey and our Fr Benedict in the parish of Studley.

» The next day Br Thomas began a retreat to prepare for his clothing as a novice on 19 January.

» The Anglican parish of Chelsea came on 15 January for a mid-week retreat at Douai.

» After much thought and discussion, it was agreed at a meeting on 16 January with the current tenants of Greyfield Wood, which is close to the main monastery property, to draft a new lease for 125 years, while retaining the adjoining Eight Acre Gully as private for the use of the community and its guests.

» Br Andrew Prickett of Buckfast returned to Douai for the new term of study at Blackfriars, Oxford from 19 January.
