Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published in News · 7 February 2022
» On 31 January, the vice-chancellor and Prof. Peter Tyler of St Mary’s University, Twickenham, visited to meet the abbot to discuss heritage matters and the possibility of developing a link between St Mary's and Douai Abbey's library.

» The guest department numbers continue to grow, although we are maintaining some restrictions for now, e.g. no guests take meals in the community refectory at present, only in the guest refectory.

» Father Hugh SK almost completed the repair and renovation of the presbytery at St Elizabeth’s, Scarisbrick, West Lancashire, a parish which had not had a resident parish priest since 2009. At Alcester, Fr Paul's new parish hall is on the verge of completion.

» On 6 February, Woolhampton parishioners met in the abbey church to draft a response to the Bishop of Portsmouth’s request for the views of parish congregations on "synodality."
