Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr

» On Monday 18 October the resident community spent much of the day cleaning the abbey church, the first major community clean since Covid began.

» The Archbishop George Stack of Cardiff and his diocesan clergy came to Douai for their annual retreat last week.

» Also last week the abbots of Douai and Belmont met at Kemerton, courtesy of Fr Francis, to discuss the English Benedictine Congregation’s commitment to the parochial ministry in the incorporated parishes.

» On 23 October, Bishop Philip Egan of Portsmouth conducted the official visitation of the parish of Woolhampton, which includes Pangbourne and Theale.
