Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr

» The various small groups established for the community's discernment process led by Fr David Smolira SJ met at Douai during the week.

» Here on retreat this past week was the Dominican Priestly Fraternity.

» On 13 October the abbot attended a committee meeting at Oscott College relating to rare book collections in a number of Catholic libraries. The committee were shown the museum and libraries at Oscott, including the new wing created for the rare book collection.

» On Saturday 16 October Abbot Christopher Jamison led a day of recollection based on an icon of the Woman at the Well, loaned by the Retreat Association.

» On the same day, the abbot, as the High Sheriff of Berkshire’s chaplain, attended a memorial service at St Mary’s Butts in Reading to honour the life and good works of the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
