Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
29 August 2021
» On 23 August Br Andrew Prickett from Buckfast called in to Douai to deposit his effects before he returns to live with us from September to begin his last year of studies at Blackfrriars in Oxford.

» The community kicked off its year of discernment, a programme led by Fr David Smolira S.J., with all the community present. Fr David was much appreciated and the community feels it is in good hands as we move forward.

» This coming week the community will be conducting its annual retreat, led this year by Bishop David McGough. Therefore please try to avoid contacting the brethren unless it is urgent. The retreat offers the community, many of whom are busy men, a time to recharge spiritually and renew their vigour, so a break from their normal round of duties and ocntacts is an invaluable help t.o this.
