Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 23 December 2019
» On 16 December Fr Edmund arrived for a break from Rome. While also spending time with his mother who lives close by, he will join the resident community for Christmas.

» Fr Armand de Malleray FSSP arrived on 19 December to lead 34 retreatants over the weekend at Douai.

» On 20 December Frs Austin and Oliver celebrated their golden jubilee of monastic profession. Ad multos annos!

» Sadly, the next day Fr Oliver's mother, Anne Holt, passed away in a nursing in Aylesbury, after a long illness. Fr Oliver and his brother James were with her when she died. She was well known to the community and had been a prominent member of the Catholic Women's League. May she rest in peace.

» Fr Bernard remains in Basingstoke Hospital, his mobility much reduced but his cheerfulness unaffected.

The monastic community wish all our friends and visitors every blessing for a happy and holy Christmas and a joyful New Year!
