Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published in News · 4 January 2021
» The abbot and community of Douai Abbey wish all our oblates, friends and Old Dowegians a blessed and joyful 2021.

» Much the queitest new year period in living memory, there is little to report from the monastery. Fr Finbar has returned from his sister's funeral in Ireland, and will soon complete his precautionary isolation in the monastery.

» Further to the "Christmas cloak" from old Douai, below are a couple of close up pictures of the embroidery, including a striking bee. The abbot has received a useful tip where to make further enquiries about the nature and origin of the cloak.
