Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
16 May 2021
It has been a quiet week at the monastery. Fr Abbot has been busy on Zoom: attending a meeting of the trustees for Oulton Abbey on 10 May; the next few days attending three meetings of the EBC superiors; and on Friday a meeting of the monastery's liturgy committee which is reviewing the celebration of the divine office at Douai.

With the next stage of restrictions' easing by the government beginning tomorrow, the community is looking forward to welcoming again a limited (for now) number of guests to stay from Tuesday, 18 May. With new variants of Covid emerging the community will be cautiously gradual in reopening to guests.
