Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
3 May 2020
The lockdown has the community living in secluded retreat from the usual world of daily activity. The only siginificant event of the past week was the first ever online meeting of the Douai Abbey Parishes Trust, with its auditors and investment managers also in attendance. The meeting worked well even though we are still geeting to grips with the new in-thing, Zoom. It went so well that in fact for the time being two of the three yearly meetings will be conducted online using Zoom, with only one meeting per year to be a physical get-together with meal. It should save on petrol and improve our carbon footprint!
