Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published by HSK in News · 21 September 2020
Fr Abbot was in Rome last week on a visit which originally encompassed visits to Vatican archives. Covid having put paid to that, the abbot was able to catch up with Abbot Gregory Polan, the Abbot Primate, our Fr Edmund, and other friends in Rome, Benedictine and otherwise. The atmosphere of restrictions was much the same as in England.

Also last week Fr Alex was at Douai for a week's private retreat, enjoying the monastery's grounds for which he had been responsible last century.

Last Saturday there was another online conference provided by the EBC continuing formation team. This time Professor Eamon Duffy gave an historical perspective on pandemics and how they were coped with in centuries past.
