Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr

» On 29 September Fr Abbot and Fr Alban were concelebrants at the Mass to commemorate Bishop Philip Egan's tenth anniversary of ordination as bishop for our diocese After this. Fr Abbot went on to Peckham in south London to concelebrate the Mass to inaugurate the Norbertine community's ministry in the Catholic parish there after a number of years serving in Chelmsford.

»On 12 October, Fr Abbot, Fr Benjamin and Fr Alban  were at Quarr Abbey for the feast of the dedication of their abbey church. Abbot Paul was principal celebrant and preacher. They joined the Quarr brethren for a festal lunch afterwards. After lunch, Abbot Xavier invited Abbot Paul to speak about Douai and his hopes for the future.

» Fr Finbar had been at Quarr two days earlier when the abbot and community of Quarr hosted a celebration for Fr Finbar's 80th birthday. On Friday evening the community at Douai held a celebration after supper to toast Fr Finbar, and also Fr Peter whose 80th birthday was that day.
