» The resident community at Douai has been remarkably thin on the ground for the last 10 days or so. Fr Hugh returned from a week's supply on Jersey last Tuesday. In the meantime Frs Gervase and Peter are taking their holiday from the monastery, and Fr Oliver, having been with his mother who was again poorly, returned on Thursday evening after a few days' absence. Fr Finbar has been at the Bernardine monastery at Hyning, in the north west of England, for the annual meeting of monastic guestmasters, which included an organized visit to Lancaster Priory.
» This morning, at 1030, is the last in our series of talks on the consecrated life, this time to be given by Sr Josephine, the Prioress of the community at Wass in Yorkshire, which used to be at Stanbrook in Worcestershire. The series of talks was offered to mark both the Year of Consecrated Life and Douai Abbey's 400th anniversary of foundation.
