Douai Abbey: The Monastery of St Edmund, King & Martyr
Published in News · 21 December 2020
Late last week we heard that one of members of staff had tested postive for asymptomatic Covid. Thankfully the community's exposure was minimal and only three of the brethren are in precautionary isolation as a result. Given recent news of a new strain of Covid, and the enhanced restrictions now in place for Berkshire, our kitchen staff are not coming in for work and the community's meals are being prepared by a few of the brethren. We will soon learn the result of the staff member's third test today. However, it is likely that Christmas Masses at Douai and even the Woolhampton parish may be closed to the public.

Any closing of Christmas Masses will be announced here as soon as possible.

Let us pray for each other.
